Connecting to PINpads

Sample PIN pad Connection on Host USB Port.

1. Place the terminal upside down, press the unlock button and then lift the rear cover to access the slots.

2. Identify the type of cable integrated with the PINpad. Most PINpads bring their own set of cables or an integrated cable, refer to your PINpad guide for more information.

3. If the PINpad cable is a USB, connect it in the USB port of the V400c. You can identify this

port by locationg the USB icon as shown in

the picture “A”.

4. If the PINpad cable is a Multi-Communication, connect it in the Multi-Communication port of the V400c. You can identify this port by locating the icon with two opposing arrows as shown in the picture “B”.

Caution: Some devices (ECRs and some PIN pads) require a separate power source. Before connecting it, remove the power cord from the unit.

Caution: For complete information about peripheral installation and use, refer to the user documentation supplied with those devices.
Note: If the PINpad does not have an integrated cable and the PINpad guide refers you to use an USB cable, you may use the MiniUSB cable that the V400c Plus has.
